Lead Radar for Reddit: privacy policy
Last updated 8 October 2026
Lead Radar for Reddit is a Chrome extension that highlights Reddit posts and comments that look like business leads. It is made and run by Mustapha Liaichi, an individual, who is responsible for the data described here. Contact: mustaphaliaichi@gmail.com.
What the extension reads
Only Reddit pages you open in Chrome (www.reddit.com). On those pages it reads the posts and comments that scroll into view: the title, the text, the link and the community name. It does not read your Reddit account, messages or anything outside reddit.com.
Where that text goes
To score a post or comment, its text has to be judged by an AI model run by TypeSafe. There are two ways this happens:
- Free checks (the default). The extension sends the post's title and text (for a comment: the comment and its post's title), the descriptions of your categories, and a random install ID to Lead Radar's server. The server checks your daily limit, forwards the text and questions to TypeSafe, and returns the scores. The server does not store the text, the title, the link, the community or anything that identifies you.
- Your own TypeSafe key (optional, in Settings). The text and questions go straight from your browser to TypeSafe with your key. Lead Radar's server is not involved and never sees your key.
TypeSafe processes the text under its own privacy policy. Lead Radar's server runs on Cloudflare, which handles connection data such as IP addresses to deliver requests; Lead Radar does not store IP addresses.
What is kept on your computer
In Chrome's extension storage, on your device only: your categories, your watched communities, your lead inbox (titles, short snippets, links and scores of matched posts and comments, and whether you marked them contacted or dismissed), your TypeSafe key if you added one, the random install ID, today's free-check count, and whether you closed the welcome or subscribed. Scores are also cached until you close the browser. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
What Lead Radar's server keeps
- Usage counters: a one-way hash (SHA-256) of your install ID, the first and last day it was seen, and how many free checks it used each day. These enforce the daily limit.
- Daily totals: numbers only, such as how many installs were active, how many checks ran and what they cost.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address and the time you signed up. It is not linked to your install ID or your browsing. It will be moved to Substack to send the newsletter.
- Uninstall feedback: if you write something on the page that opens after uninstalling, that text and the time. No ID is attached.
The server never keeps post or comment text, titles, links, community names or your Reddit username.
What we never do
No ads, no selling or sharing data, no analytics or tracking scripts, no access to your Reddit account. Data from Reddit pages is used only to show you scores, never for anything else. The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- Use your own TypeSafe key to keep Lead Radar's server out of the loop entirely.
- To remove your newsletter email, unsubscribe from any issue or write to
mustaphaliaichi@gmail.com. - Uninstall the extension to delete everything stored on your computer.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions: mustaphaliaichi@gmail.com.
